Winners will be decided by I.Stephanie Boyce and judges from Travers Smith, and will receive a trophy alongside an invitation to a meal with Travers Smith in London (late September).

How to Enter

  • Each individual may be nominated for a maximum of two (2) award categories. Additional nominations will not be considered.

  • Nominations must clearly reflect the specific wording and intent of each award category. Submissions should demonstrate how the nominee meets the stated criteria.

  • In 250 words, summarise clearly and concisely why the individual being nominated deserves the specific award.

  • All nominations must be submitted through via this form by the stated deadline. Late or incomplete entries will not be accepted.

Eligibility

  • You must be 18 years old or over, currently residing or studying in the UK, with an interest in pursuing a career in the legal profession.

  • Open to lawyers and aspiring lawyers.

  • Self-nominations and third-party nominations are both accepted.

  • This award recognises a mentor who has provided exceptional guidance, encouragement, and support to their mentee(s). This individual has offered impactful advice, shared personal experiences, including adversity, to uplift others, and demonstrated a sincere commitment to the growth of those they mentor. Their dedication has contributed to their mentee's development and success, embodying the true spirt of mentorship.

  • This award celebrates a mentee who has shown outstanding dedication to their personal and professional development. They have actively taken onboard feedback, worked hard to seize opportunities, and demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing their legal career. Whether through attending legal events, seeking out learning experiences, or engaging meaningfully with their mentor, this individual stands out for their drive and growth.

  • This award recognises an individual who is passionate about driving change and advancing Social mobility. This person has actively championed social mobility through initiatives, campaigns or programs. Their actions should inspire others to remember that our background should not determine our access to a legal career.

  • This award recognises an individual who has shown unwavering dedication to championing diversity, equity, and inclusion. They have actively led or supported initiatives within their local area and/or wider community that challenges bias and promote a more inclusive environment.

  • This award recognises an individual who has demonstrated exceptional strength and perseverance in the face of adversity. This person has continued to push forward despite setbacks. They are a testament to the idea that, while the journey may be difficult, we must keep striving toward our goals.

  • This award recognises an individual who has dedicated their time and expertise to a charity, organisation, or legal clinic. Through pro bono work and/or volunteering, they have used their skills to support meaningful change in the life of an individual, a group, a community, or wider society.

  • This award celebrates an individual who has demonstrated creativity, initiative, and a drive to create meaningful, innovative change within their organisation, community, or wider society. Whether working independently or as part of a team, their actions provide support and have a positive impact that reaches beyond themselves.
